The Friends of the Newport Transporter Bridge (FONTB)
was founded in 1998, as a registered charity, and is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the Bridge

DID YOU KNOW??
The Transporter Bridge is currently undergoing an exciting programme of restoration which includes the creation of a brand new visitor centre. This is a Newport City Council project which the Friends are supporting.
Whilst we wait to get back on site, the Friends role is to promote and support a range of activities, including events, publishing a regular Newsletter, giving presentations, and maintaining an archive.
How can you show your support?
For less than £1 a month, membership of the Friends will ensure you are kept up to date with the latest news, you will receive two membership magazines a year and we are working towards a schedule of Friends events starting in 2026.
